Tracy Morgan earns first movie role since car crash

Hot off his surprise appearance at the 67th annual Primetime Emmys Sunday night, Tracy Morgan has nabbed his first role in a film since his car crash in June 2014.

The movie is called Fist Fight and will also star Ice Cube and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Charlie Day, reports TheWrap. Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris and 22 Jump Street’s Jillian Bell also star.

Fist Fight is set up at New Line and will be directed by Richie Keen, who has helmed episodes of Always Sunny. Evan Susser and Van Robichaux wrote the script. Producers include Max Greenfield, Shawn Levy and John Richard. The executive producers are Dan Cohen, Billy Rosenberg and Marty Ewing. Filming will take place in Atlanta.

The story centers on a teacher (Day) who gets into a fight with his much tougher colleague (Ice Cube).

Morgan’s previous film appearance came in Chris Rock’s Top Five and he also starred in First Sunday with Ice Cube in 2008.

The former 30 Rock actor made a surprise appearance at the end of the Emmys on Sunday. He is also set to host Saturday Night Live on Oct. 17.
