Trevor Noah’s ‘Daily Show’ debut to air on other Viacom networks

Viacom is using its vast network of cable channels to help give Trevor Noah’s first episode of The Daily Show the widest possible audience. The company said today that the episode will be shown on VH1, MTV and other Viacom-owned networks.

Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless broke the news in a meeting with reporters on Friday, Variety reports. She also called Noah “the next evolution in the franchise that is The Daily Show.”

Noah, a South African comedian picked to replace Jon Stewart, will make his debut on Monday. His first guest will be comedian Kevin Hart. His other first week guests include Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and singer Ryan Adams.

Viacom has used its other networks to cross-promote programs several times. The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards aired across several Viacom networks, although the show only drew 9.8 million viewers when it first aired.
