On the season finale episode of Blunt Talk, ‘Let’s Save Central Florida! Let’s Save Midtown,’ the Adler family finally has its say, but at what cost?
Walter is floating in the pool. He tells Harry that he feels better when he looks at the sky. Harry has Ronnie’s petting goat. Walter says she’s soulful and would have made a great silent film star. Harry agrees.
Later in the kitchen, Walter asks about his psychiatrist, Dr. Weiss. Harry says he’s stable. Walter asks Harry about his tryst with Sylvia. Harry says he’s had a breakthrough with his issue. Walter is thrilled. Walter tells Harry about his flashback to the war. He feels guilty about what happened then. Harry offers to take Walter to see a doctor specializing in PTSD.
Herschel and Shelly come into the kitchen. Herschel is wearing Walter’s robe, but assures him no sex happened in it. Shelly leaves.
Martin is having a drink with Rosalie and Teddy before leaving for his trek on the Appalachian trail. Rosalie tells him he has to look them in the eye while clinking glasses, or he’ll have years of bad sex. Teddy says he has something for Martin before he leaves.
Martin tells Rosalie that Teddy seems good. She says he’s taking large doses of vitamin E. Rosalie asks Martin about the other Rosalie. He says she wasn’t as much fun as her. Teddy reads Martin a poem, and gives him a walking stick and a kiss on the forehead.
Harry and Walter meet with the PTSD doctor, Dr. Mendelson. He believes the body and mind are deeply connected and his patients exercise as well as discuss their issues. Walter is skeptical that he could have had PTSD for 30 years and not know it, but Dr. Mendelson helps him see that he has. He asks them what kind of music they like.
Jim talks to his mom on Facetime. He tells her that he’s happy because of Celia. He says it’s probably not mutual, but it’s nice to feel something.
Dr. Mendelson plays a Buddy Holly song and provides dance partners for Walter and Harry. They try to dance their way to happiness.
Walter comes into work and tells them about Dr. Mendelson. He wants to do a six part series about the treatment of PTSD on air. He thinks it can help a lot of people. He asks Jim to bump the zero impact family, the Adlers, again so he can have Dr. Mendelson on the show. He wants to shift the family to the next night. He’ll put them up for the night at an eco-friendly hotel.
Jim approaches the Adlers to bump them. They think he’s there for a pre-interview, but he has to let them down. Mr. Adler goes ballistic when he finds out he won’t be on the show again and he hurts his back. He asks if it’s 100% certain that he’ll be on the next night. Jim can’t promise. After Jim leaves, Mr. Adler says he’s going to take it to the next level and pulls out his cell phone.
Harry is reading a romance novel. Rosalie comes in looking for Walter, but he’s going over clips for the PTSD segment. Rosalie was hoping to spoon to cheer her up. She asks Harry instead. He says he’d be honored.
Celia finds Jim in his ostrich pillow. He’s upset after bumping the Adlers. She says to think of something positive. He tells her that he really liked being at the party with her and likes spending time with her socially. She says she feels the same.
Harry is spooning Rosalie in Walter’s office. Harry tells Rosalie about his sexual awakening at the party. She says she can tell and it’s very nice. He apologizes, but she says she doesn’t mind, so he snuggles in closer. Walter finds them and tells them to get up so they can work on the broadcast.
The show starts and Mr. Adler sneaks in with a gun. He tells them to keep the camera on. Adler points the gun at Walter. He gives Walter his interview questions. Walter refuses to cooperate and Adler threatens to shoot him. Rosalie tells Walter to do what Adler says, so he starts asking the questions Adler brought. The police show up, but Walter convinces them not to take any chances & just let Adler have his say. Walter tells him that they could have spoken reasonably, but Adler says Walter kept bumping him.
Adler tells Walter that they have to go and brings him outside at gunpoint. Dr. Mendelson sees the gun and passes out. Rosalie tries to save Walter, but he tells her to keep the broadcast going, so she sends Celia to the desk. Walter and Adler leave the building and blend in with a flash mob designed to look like them. Adler thanks Walter for letting him take over the show and hopes Walter won’t hold it against him. Harry and the cops leave the building, but can’t find Walter and Adler amongst the mob.
The next night, Jim and Celia are on air talking about the eco-terrorist who took Walter hostage. The mob met up with a group of electric cars that drove off in several directions, so the police couldn’t track Walter. They have no idea where he is. Jim and Celia hold hands below the desk.
Walter runs and stops traffic. The police come, as do Walter’s staff. The terrorists gave Walter a drugged veggie burger and he woke next to the road. Harry gives him his flask. Walter is upset that he’s finally able to give a message of hope to the American people, but it’s delivered by a madman. Walter’s crew tells him how brave he was.
That night, Harry tucks Walter into bed and reads him The Once and Future King.
