Daniel Tosh bets on Patriots to help fellow comedian battling brain cancer

Daniel Tosh, the host of Comedy Central's Tosh.0 made a bet against his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins, to help fellow comedian Andy Ritchie battle brain cancer.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show had previously raised $25,000 for Ritchie's treatment. However, Tosh said that "25 grand was just a drop in the bucket for medical expenses."

So, he decided to bet on the New England Patriots leading the Miami Dolphin's during the first half of Tuesday's game in hopes of doubling the $25,000.

"Once I double it, [Ritchie] can do whatever he wants with it; go on a lion-hunting safari or get treatment," said Tosh.

Charlie Siskel the executive producer of the show, confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter the authenticity of the comedian's claim.

"It is a bit for the show as we are doing it for comedy, but it is also real. If we win, yes the plan is to contribute it to Andy, who's in a rough spot," he said.

According to Fox Sports, the Patriots didn't disappoint and led the Dolphins 19-0 during the first half.

The comedian took to Twitter and posted a picture of the wager and encouraged his team to play better during the second half.
