Aziz Ansari pays tribute to his parents in touching blog post

One of the greatest aspects of Aziz Ansari's new show Master of None is that his parents actually star as themselves, and the comedian has just penned a touching tribute to them on his Tumblr blog.

In the post, Ansari writes that his father recently told him he only acted in the show in order to spend more time with his son.

"I almost instantly collapsed into tears at the thought of how much this person cares about me and took care of me and gave me everything to give me the amazing life I have," he wrote.

Ansari went on to say that he felt terrible for all the times he hasn't visited his parents, telling his fans to do something nice for their parents.

He also discussed the "Parents" episode of Master of None, which has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. In it, Dev (Ansari) reflects on all his father has scarified over the years, and so he takes his dad out to dinner to show his appreciation.

Ansari noted that doing this episode actually improved the relationship between him and his parents, who he has not been very open with in the past.

"And if you have something like that with your family - I urge you to work at it and get better because these are special people in your life and I get terrified when my dad tells me about friends of his, people close to his age, that are having serious health issues, etc," he wrote. "Enjoy and love these people while you can."
