'Legend' French premiere cancelled due to Paris attack

The French premiere of Tom Hardy's newest film 'Legend' has been cancelled following Friday's deadly terrorist attack in Paris, the studio announced Monday.

The event was scheduled to take place on November 17 at the Olympia Theater, which is about two miles away from the Bataclan concert hall where Friday's attack took place.

“Following the tragic events of this weekend, we decided to cancel the premiere of the movie Legend which was scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Olympia,” Vivendi said in a statement. “We thank you for your understanding.”

Although 'Legend's' star Tom Hardy was not expected to attend Tuesday's event, British singer Duffy, who stars in the film and contributes three songs to the soundtrack, was scheduled to perform.

Lionsgate made a similar decision on Sunday when they announced they would scale back the premiere of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2' in response to Paris. Actors Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson will not participate in red carpet interviews at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday.

Several TV shows, such as Supergirl and NCIS: LA, have also pulled episodes that involved terrorism from airing this week.
