Ariel Winter is standing up for herself and women everywhere. The Modern Family actress responded to haters that criticized her body on Instagram after she posted a throwback picture in a bikini with her nieces on Nov. 13.
“Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this?” Winter wrote on another Instagram photo of a women’s leg with labels based on skirt length.
“The height of a girl’s skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for,” she continued. “It sickens me to think that at 17, a photo of myself with my nieces is suggesting that I’m ‘asking for it.’”
This is not the first time Winter, who had a breast reduction over the summer, has had to deal with body haters. A fan recently compared her body to Ariana Grande’s body, and Winter retweeted the pop star’s message to stop comparing women with one another.
"Thank you @ArianaGrande," she wrote. “Women should empower one another. Celebrate each other- you're all beautiful.”
Winter also recently shut down rumors that she was getting married for her 18th birthday. She has been dating Laurent Claude Gaudette for two years.
