'The Office' star Angela Kinsey heads to TBS for comedy about call center, '1-800'

Angela Kinsey, one of the stars of The Office, will soon be returning to the world of workplace comedy.

According to Deadline, Kinsey has just sold a new comedy to TBS, which she will write and possibly star in as well. Titled 1-800, the show will be loosely based on Kinsey's own experience working in a call center when she was first starting out.

Kinsey is mainly known for her role on The Office, where she played a character also named Angela. 1-800 will be perhaps her biggest project since the NBC sitcom ended two years ago, although she was recently a regular on Hulu's The Hotwives Of Orlando. She also recently appeared on TBS in Your Family or Mine, a 2015 comedy which was cancelled after 10 episodes, according to TVSeriesFinale.com.

If a sitcom about a call center sounds familiar, that's because NBC attempted something similar a few years ago with Outsourced, which revolved around a call center in India. It was cancelled after a poorly-reviewed first season, so hopefully Kinsey's show won't suffer a similar fate.
