Porsche says Paul Walker's death was 'a result of his own fault'

Porsche Cars North America has reportedly replied to Meadow Walker's wrongful death lawsuit by saying her father's death was "a result of his own comparative fault."

In court documents obtained by Gawker, Porsche Cars North America reportedly stated that Paul Walker's "death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of [his] own comparative fault."

According to the L.A. Times, Meadow Walker filed a wrongful-death suit against the German car manufacturer in September. She claimed negligence on Porsche's behalf and defects in the car's design, including its seatbelt, caused her father's death.

According to the lawsuit, the seatbelt "snapped Walker's torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis, flattening his seat and trapping him in a supine position where he remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and 20 seconds later."

Last year we reported that Kristine Rodas, the widow of the late Roger Rodas who was driving the Carrera GT involved in the 2013 crash, filed a lawsuit against Porsche claiming that the vehicle lacked a certain fuel cell and crash cage that would have prevented the car from exploding upon impact. She sued for wrongful death, product liability and negligence.
