TLC fans who donated to Kickstarter to fund their new album outraged with release delay

TLC raised $430,000 on Kickstarter, thanks to fans who were eager to hear a new album from surviving members T-Boz and Chilli, but those same fans are now demanding to know where their money went since there’s still no new album release.

Back in January, TLC, who hasn’t recorded an album since the tragic death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2002, launched the Kickstarter with the goal to raise $150,000.

They haves surpassed that goal, but the same fans who donated money for the album to be made are voicing their frustrations on Twitter. They have started the hashtag #TLCIsGoingToJailParty, accusing T-Boz and Chilli of taking the money and running.

However, The Grio reports they did give an update on the album in September, saying they’re working on it in the studio and it won’t be ready until 2016.

T-Boz is firing back on Twitter, writing, “Y’all sound ridiculous we’re I n the damn studio recording it,” and when one fan told her they owe her $5 back she replied, “Call Kickstarter and tell em yo give it bk.”
