Last night NCIS: Los Angeles found the team working to figure out why Sam’s former partner, Mark Ruiz, has gone off the grid from ATF. The last anyone has seen of him was when he was seen on surveillance in the middle of a sting before an explosion that killed three buyers of a dangerous explosive. He is suspected in the explosion, but Sam feels there is more to the store.
While the rest of the team has trouble believing Mark is innocent, especially Kensi and Deeks when they discover his past drug use, Sam works undercover with Mark to finish his operation on the sellers of Binetex.
As always, there are some light moments in the episode, such as Deeks and Kensi discussing boundaries as a couple in the workplace and when Nell and Eric gave the former a hard time about trying to sneak into Mark’s NCIS file. Plus, we also discover some tension between Mark and Sam, which confuses Sam until he finds out the supposed reason for it.
It was fun to get some background on Sam and his life before Callen, which is very surprising to think about. Check out some of the key moments from last night’s “Unspoken.”
