'Twilight' author Stephanie Meyer developing supernatural series for Hulu

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is developing a new TV, The Rook, for Hulu.

With the re-release of Twilight in October for the novel's tenth anniversary, Meyer is having a busy few months. She released a novel titled Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined, in which she swapped the genders of the lead characters. She talks about the anniversary and the new novel with The Hollywood Reporter.

According to TV Guide, Meyer will be working on the new project with Lionsgate. The Rook will stream on Hulu and also be available in the U.K. on TV. Meyer is definitely someone to collaborate with, as she has a proven track record thanks to the Twilight franchise.

Deadline reports that this collaboration strengthens the ties between Lionsgate and Meyer. Her Twilight saga has been one of the leading franchises in the industry and were released by Lionsgate's Summit. The five-movie series made over $3.3 billion at the box office worldwide.

The Rook is based on the novel by Daniel O’Malley, who has a sequel coming out next year, titled Stiletto. The story follows a strong woman named Myfanwy Thomas, who has extraordinary powers. Myfanwy is employed by a British government agency that protects the U.K. from threats that are not of a human nature and involves the supernatural.

Meyer will also serve as executive producer to the series.
