Hello Adele, Lionel Richie is waiting to work with you

The moment Adele’s “Hello” single dropped, a parody video bring her song together with Lionel Richie’s “Hello” went viral. Richie is in on the joke and he’s hoping to actually get to work with Adele.

E! News caught up with Richie, who said he is working on some way to collaborate with the “When We Were Young” singer. However, it won’t happen until after her upcoming tour next year.

“We are going to be doing something together—that's already almost in the works...I can almost say that we are talking, but right now she has a mission,” Richie said. “Her mission is [to] get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won't happen just yet. She is committed to that.”

Richie really enjoyed the video mashup, calling it hilarious.

“Someone said to me, 'Lionel, Adele did 'Hello'' and I said, 'Retirement. I am done,’” Richie said. “Then, all of a sudden I realized this is not 'Hello.' She just used 'Hello.'”

Maybe Adele and Richie could collaborate on a cover of The Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye.”

“Hello” is the lead single from Adele’s 25. The video is up to 569 million views on YouTube, while the official video for Richie’s 1984 song is only up to 27.9 million, even though it’s been up since 2009!
