John Boyega surprises fans during 'Star Wars' screenings

Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor John Boyega decided to surprise fans at multiple screenings of the film for its opening weekend in New York.

Boyega has been doing promotions for the film, even appearing for a Jimmy Fallon interview where he revealed that friends thought he was simply an extra in the film. Then he went to five theaters throughout New York City to surprise lucky fans.

Posting on his Instagram page, he is heard in one video telling moviegoers he was “in the area” while trying to find a donut shop. In another post, he captioned, “Had an amazing time meeting you all and again thank you for all the support.” He also thanked the theaters where he appeared for the screenings.
