This year's Miss Universe pageant featured an unexpected and surprisingly dramatic ending. Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, took home the crown and beat out 79 other contestants, but she wasn't announced as the winner initially.
People reported that host Steve Harvey accidentally announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo, had won the title and she was almost crowned. Harvey apologized, saying that it was his fault for not reading the card correctly. The mistake was corrected and the crowd was left stunned and confused.
Miss Colombia was the first-runner up and coming in third place was Miss USA, Olivia Jordan.
