12:10 p.m. On a Wednesday. Philadelphia, PA
Charlie and Frank are having lunch in their apartment when Frank falls out of the window. He hits his head very hard and stumbles away.
Mac, Dennis and Dee are having one of the usual debates in the bar when a confused Frank stumbles in. He starts mentioning divorcing their mother, who died years ago. Charlie rushes in and tells the gang that Frank hit his head and has a concussion. They discover the giant cut on the back of his head. Frank is under the impression that it is 2006.
The gang has the genius idea to change their history with Frank and ultimately get his money and kick him out. Dennis and Dee will truly “connect with him” while they will have him avoid Charlie all together. Dennis and Dee take Frank to dinner where certain words trigger flashes in his memory. They present Frank writing them a check for a charity, in which Frank is proud of what they have accomplished…which is nothing.
Mac and Charlie go to the strip club where just like 10 years ago, Frank arrives and steals the girls that they bring back to the apartment. Meanwhile, Dennis and Dee are drinking and celebrating their plan and what they want to do with their futures. They ultimately end up getting wasted and smoking crack.
Dennis and Dee return to the familiar social services office where they once again try to go on welfare. They run into Mac and Charlie and have another familiar conversation. Dee gets a call from Frank saying he is ready to give them the money.
They meet at a lawyer’s office where things go south when the woman doesn’t believe Dennis and Dee were the first to come up with the smartphone. Frank wants to support them so writes them a check and they run off to cash it.
Mac and Charlie are searching for a roommate to replace Frank which include two strangers and The Waitress. She is under the impression that she gets the place, but Charlie moves out. Frank returns and is a potential roommate. He starts eating his old rum ham and his memory finally returns to him. He is back with the gang. Meanwhile, Dee and Dennis go to cash Frank’s check but are unable to since the teller informs them that he dated the check 2006. Dennis and Dee stare blankly at the teller, in disbelief as the episode ends.
Tonight’s episode was funny and it is an episode that would be familiar to you if you a regular viewer of the series. We are two episodes in to the season and I’m laughing just as much as I was last season. Next week’s episode looks amazing. Cheers to a good start to the season!
