Just one day after her husband’s funeral, Celine Dion attended a visitation for her brother, Daniel, who died after battling cancer.
According to Le Journal de Montreal, the visitation took place at the Salon Rajotte Charles funeral home and the family sang to honor their lost brother. As Dion later left, she thanked the people outside who came to give their condolences.
CTV News reported his funeral is set for Monday. Dion’s husband Rene Angelil, who died on Jan. 14, two days before Daniel, will be buried in Montral’s Cote-des-Neiges cemetery.
Before he passed away, Angelil had taken care of his own funeral arrangements in order to ease his wife’s pain. His funeral took place at the same church where he married Dion 21 years earlier.
Angelil and Dion’s eldest son, Rene-Charles, gave a moving eulogy for his father at the service, talking about the great times they had together and how he would share memories of his father with his five-year-old twin brothers. His euology included that his father was “a tough act to follow.”
Daniel is survived by two daughers, Valerie and Marie-Michelle, and two grandchildren in addition to his mother and 13 siblings.
