Even though Donald Trump doesn’t really need to create a television ad for his 2016 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, the real estate mogul has released his first one. The 30-second spot effectively acts as a crash course of his positions.
The commercial starts off with Trump saying that he approves the message, then segues to a picture of Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama that fades into the images of the San Bernardino shooters.
“Politicians can pretend it’s something else, but Donald Trump calls it radical Islamic terrorism. That’s why he’s calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until we can figure out what’s going on,” the narrator says.
The ad promises that Trump will “quickly cut the head off ISIS” and “take their oil.” (How does he plan on doing that?) It concludes with Trump again making his promise that he will stop illegal immigration with a wall that Mexico will somehow pay for.
“We will make America great again,” Trump says at the end.
The spot comes just a few weeks before the Iowa caucus on Feb. 1 and the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 9.
