The Game announces $1 million donation to Flint, Michigan
Rapper The Game will be donating $500,000 of his own money to help those who are currently living through the ongoing water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
In addition to his own donation, Avita Water is matching the donation, bringing it up to $1 million. These donations are going through The Game's charity The Robin Hood Project. The first shipment is scheduled to arrive in the city on Wednesday.
The Game is personally connected to the ongoing crisis in Flint. His younger sister and her children currently live there.
He took to Instagram to call out other celebrities for their "cute" donations and asked them to step up their giving. Mark Wahlberg, Jimmy Fallon and Diddy have all donated money and additional support to help. Diddy and Wahlberg are donating 1 million water bottles to the city of Flint via AQUAhydrate, a Los Angeles–based bottled-water company. Both partially own AQUAhydrate. The company will start by sending 5,000 cases of water to the city as early as this week.
