Kate Walsh talks about the importance of female heart health and future projects

Kate Walsh is well known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice as Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, but now she is focusing on the importance of staying healthy in her everyday life and wants to let fans know about the importance of heart health.

Walsh has teamed up with CocoaVia to spread the word about the number one killer of women today, heart disease. Walsh stresses the importance of educating women on how important heart health is. In addition to working with CocoaVia, Walsh also took part in the Women’s Day Red Dress Awards.

“This is really awesome and it’s something that I wanted to do for a number of years. This is a way to honor women who work really hard on heart health and prevention,” said Walsh.

Staying healthy has its challenges but the Grey’s Anatomy star had some good news to share with fans.

“The good news is dark chocolate is really good for you,”  Walsh explained about the new line of CocoaVia products.

There are many health benefits with dark chocolate, and while it tastes good, it’s the cocoa flavanols that are truly good for you and that is what CocoaVia puts into their supplements.

While this has become a main focus and passion for Walsh, she could soon be making her return to television with a new project in the works from The Big Short director Adam McKay. The two, who worked on the short-lived Bad Judge together, have been working on a single camera half-hour show. Along with this new untitled project, Walsh continues to keep busy.

“McKay and I worked together on Bad Judge for NBC and now we are working on a half-hour single camera show probably for cable. I’ve also got a mobile talk show that I’m going to shoot in 2016 and I’ve been reading a ton of scripts,” Walsh said.
