Dominos reveals test pizza delivery robot named DRU in New Zealand

Dominos has announced they have been testing a delivery robot named DRU (Domino's Robotic Unit) in New Zealand.

Dominos Australia introduced DRU on March 17, calling him the “world's first autonomous delivery vehicle!” The vehicle is designed to drive on the sidewalk from the Dominos store to customers’ doors for delivery.

“DRU has a passion for delivering piping hot meals and a nice warm smile to customers,” Dominos said. “While he won't be taking to the streets tomorrow, he is enjoying his early progress as a prototype and giving customers a glimpse into the future of what is possible.”

The video above shows DRU's first delivery on March 8.
