Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill got blatantly honest in a new interview, which he has predicted might see some backlash. He admitted he doesn’t just act for the creative side of it, he also does it because it’s an extremely lucrative business.
In an interview with Man of the World magazine, Cavill said he was “wary” saying it, but the money is a big reason that is keeping him coming back for more.
“I’m slightly wary of saying this, because it can be frowned upon, certainly by members of my community and people outside my community,” he said. “But I’m not just doing this for the art. The money’s fantastic and that’s something which I deem – and again, it is frowned upon – very important.”
Cavill went on to say he likes to spend his money not only on himself, but the good friends in his life as well. He also said he won’t “pretend to be coy” about the fact that spending lavishly makes him happy.
“Travel’s great as long as you’re going first class,” he added. “I mean, traveling to New Zealand in economy, it sucks.”
He missed out on the normal college experience when he skipped it to pursue acting, but he said he's making up for lost time now and he's in a much better place financially for it. "I’ve actually got money to spend on nice places, rather than having to go to grotty pubs that stink of piss," he said.
