Jane The Virgin began with the ladies dealing with the situation when the house got flooded. Rafael allowed the women to stay at the hotel, which apparently also meant Pablo. Jane tried staying with Michael, but the neighbors complained about the baby crying, so she thought about looking for a new place.
When they went to meet the contractor to find out how long it would be before they could move back in, Jane found out it wouldn’t be ready in time for her wedding. Before leaving, she found her first Bible that Alba ever got for her. Then Jane had to deal with her father wanting to invite a lot of people to the wedding, despite her only wanting 75 for a small wedding. She told him to reduce his list to 15 guests.
Meanwhile, Michael interviewed Derek, but Rafael interrupted to get him to stop, unhappy he was being questioned without a lawyer. As this happened, Jane later tried to take care of Mateo, who would not stop crying at night. When she finally got him to sleep, she saw Petra walking along in the hallway, seemingly distracted and tired.
Michael and Jane went to look at houses the next day to see if they could find something that would work for their family. They didn’t like the first house and went to one 39 minutes away, which had everything they wanted. However, Jane knew it would be difficult to get Rafael to agree to be that far from Mateo.
Sure enough, Rafael was not happy to be far from Mateo and offered to pay half for a house for them to live closer. Jane said they’d consider it before noticing Petra at work. She went to talk to her to see if she could help since Petra felt unsure about what to do with the twins. Jane offered to take her to a new moms’ group.
Jane talked to Michael about the money, but they both agreed it wouldn’t work and she was shocked to find out Rogelio tried to get Michael to give them wiggle room. Jane decided if they haven’t met anyone, they won’t come to the wedding and soon, they come up with some ideas to try to compromise with Rafael on the living situation.
Alba enjoyed a date with Pablo and told him they couldn’t be together as she had values about sex and would wait til marriage. She then ran up to tell Xo and Jane that he proposed. The girls were concerned she was rushing into it and tried to be happy for her.
Petra and Jane went to the moms group, where it appeared Petra was still having a difficult time, but listens to the moms talk about their experiences.
Meanwhile, Rogelio went to see Jane with Charo, but saw Xo instead. She tried to discuss what was going on with Jane and the wedding, but he didn’t want to talk.
At the moms group, Petra opened up about not connecting but when the talk of postpartum came in, she got defensive and left. Jane went to talk to her and told her to consider seeing an expensive doctor to figure out what was going on.
Petra came to see Rafael with the twins and when she discovered he was not happy with Mateo moving far away, she reminded him what Jane did to have Mateo considering the events that happened and told him to make things work. He then sent a text to Jane agreeing to try the house for a year.
Jane watched her father do a scene and after he finished, his co-worker Adriana tried to talk him into having sex, but he declined. When Jane realized her father wanted her to meet people he wanted to invite to the wedding, including Charo, she reminded him it was about who she wanted there and she would pay for the wedding instead.
At the hotel, Jane told her mom and Alba she would look for a cheaper wedding venue since all she cared about was marrying the man she loved. When she and Michael went to sign a lease for a house, they saw Mateo cruising around the table, which made Jane realize he shouldn’t be far from Rafael and Michael agreed.
Rafael saw Derek, who told him he was heading to New York, but Rafael tried to convince him to stay. Then it appeared Michael was listening in on their conversation.
Jane and Xo talked about where to have the wedding and her mother began to talk about how Rogelio didn’t get to do things for her big parties growing up. Jane agreed and they got off the elevator, only to realize they were on the wrong floor. Then, they were stunned to see Pablo with another woman.
The girls comforted Alba after giving her the news before she publically dumped Pablo in the hotel.
Meanwhile, Petra went to see Magda in prison, who informed her she wasn’t meant for motherhood and should give the twins up.
Jane went to see Rogelio about agreeing to have a big party while keeping the wedding small. He decided later on he would get better help from Xo while Rafael and Michael discussed Rafael helping Michael with the investigation.
Michael and Jane discovered a house in their price range, but thought Rafael could be subsidizing it. However, they go to the realtor and discover it wasn’t Rafael and to get the house, they need to write a letter to say why they are the perfect tenants.
Jane wrote the letter and revised it with Michael before sending it off. Rogelio then surprises Jane with a recreation of Alba’s house on the soundstage and Jane loved it. Michael got a call from the realtor finding out they got the house. It turned out Petra was the owner all along.
The ladies have a moment together on the sound stage as they prepare for Jane moving out. They heard Charo preparing a father/daughter dance song for the wedding before Jane left to see the house with Michael.
Back at the Marbella, Petra was seen packing a bag.
