Olivia Newton-John’s boyfriend of nine years, Patrick McDermott, who went missing in 2005, has reportedly been spotted in Mexico and has been accused of faking his death.
Eleven years after vanishing on a fishing trip in San Pedro, Calif., McDermott is reportedly living in a secluded part of Mexico called Sayulita with a German girlfriend.
Newton-John went on to marry in 2008 to John Easterling, but this news is likely as shocking to her as it is to us.
Private investigator Philip Klein told Woman’s Day, “Patrick’s probably now working in the yachting industry for a high-profile family down there.”
The first investigator to work on the case, John Nazarian, added they believe he’s dating a “German national.”
“I spoke to people there [in Mexico],” he explained. “The girl he was traveling with was described as having a German accent. To come up with the conclusion that he fell off the boat, and allegedly no one saw him fall off the boat, is the most preposterous thing I've ever heard in my life."
