Even though she’s never been a judge before and has no experience in law, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has reportedly signed a deal to star in a court TV show.
The news was first reported by People, which reported that she signed a deal with Warm Springs, a company based in Montana. The company approached her last year and she signed on in February. Since then, Warm Springs has brought on an executive that worked with Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown to develop their popular shows.
“Palin's telegenic personality, wide appeal and common sense wisdom make her a natural for this kind of format and she was Warm Springs' top pick for this project,” a source told People.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Palin still hasn’t made a pilot, so the earliest the series would begin is in fall 2017.
While daytime talkshows have struggled in recent years if the host isn’t named Ellen DeGeneres, daytime court shows are still big hits. Judge Judy is renewed through 2020 and Judge Joe Brown and Divorce Court still pull in viewers.
Palin, who was Arizona Sen. John McCain’s running mate in 2008 when he was the Republican presidential nominee, recently ended her contract with Fox News. She starred in a short-lived reality series for TLC in 2010.
This news comes as Palin is back in Alaska with her husband Todd Palin, who was in a dangerous snowmobile accident.
