Tracy Morgan says he was 'contemplating suicide' during recovery period after 2014 accident

Tracy Morgan has made a miraculous recovery since his near fatal accident in 2014 but he’s now revealing he contemplated suicide during his recovery period.

While the accident took the life of his friend and fellow comedian, James McNair, Morgan survived it after a long rehabilitation.

"I thought I was going to die for a long time,” he told Rolling Stone. “I was in a very dark place. I was sitting right here, contemplating suicide. I couldn't walk.”

He recalls the doctor telling him, “The two biggest accidents in the world was yours and Princess Diana.” Of course, the latter didn’t survive. "Think about it. That's heavy sh-t,” he added.

Morgan was in a coma for eight days and when he woke up, he was blind for six days. But his prognosis suddenly took a turn and he’s now thriving in comedy again.

He said he saw his late father during that time in a coma, explaining, "He was the one who said, 'Go home, son. I ain't ready for you yet.’ I don't think I cheated death. I think this was the plan. My room wasn't ready."

Morgan also joked he got advice from Richard Pryor while in "heaven." He said, "I feel funnier than I ever felt." He launched his Picking Up Pieces tour in January.
