The Billboard Music Awards will be airing later this month and this year Britney Spears will be accepting the Millennium Award, which recognizes her years of achievements in the music biz. The 34-year-old will also be performing some of her hits and that’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
The “…Baby One More Time” singer has previously won six Billboard Awards for New Artist of the Year (1999), Female Artist of the Year (1999), Female Albums Artist of the Year (1999), Female Singles Artist of the Year (1999), Albums Artist of the Year (2000) and Hot Dance Sales Single of the Year (2004). Furthermore, Billboard noted that Spears has reportedly sold over 70 million albums and singles in the U.S. alone.
Past recipients of this award have included Beyoncé and the late Whitney Houston.
