Steve Carell’s mom passes away just before Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day, Steve Carell shared the sad news with his followers that his mom had passed away at the age of 90 on May 7.

The actor took to Twitter writing, "Harriet Theresa Carell. October 15, 1925- May 7, 2016. Love You Mom."


He then retweeted a picture of him and his mother.


Carell died at her home in Massachusetts. Her online obituary states that “Harriet loved flea markets, making preserves, spending time with her family, and was a great fan of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, whom she referred to as her ‘boyfriend.’ She worked for over 30 years as a psychiatric nurse at Emerson Hospital in Concord.”

She is survived by her four sons and six grandchildren.
