The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA title on Sunday, June 19, by defeating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7.
The Cavaliers became the first team to rally from a 3-1 Finals deficit. LeBron James lead the way for the Cavs with 27 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots while Kyrie Irving had 26 points. Steph Curry had 17 points, Klay Thompson had 14 points and Draymond Green had 32 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists for the Warriors.
The Cavaliers championship is Cleveland’s first major sports championship since the Browns won the NFL title in 1964, a span of 52 years, according to ESPN. They are the fourth team to win an NBA Finals Game 7 on the road. James was named the Finals MVP.
