Azealia Banks apologizes via social media for using homophobic slur

Azealia Banks did something that she doesn’t do often and finally apologized for some of her word choices in the past and vowed never to use a certain homophobic slur again.

The 25-year-old rapper took to Facebook on June 10 and in a lengthy post made it clear that she will never use the word f****t again.

“Ok, i'm never saying the word F****T ever again. The amount of people that get hurt when i use the word vs. the amount of people i've said it to are just not worth it,” she continued by saying, “This isn't a cop out, its just me realizing that words hurt. and while i may be immune to every word and be thicker skinned than most, it doesn't mean that i get to go around treating people with the same toughness that made my skin so thick.”

Banks has gotten heat before for things she has posted online. As we reported, she was dropped from a U.K. festival last month for going after Zayn Malik in a foul-mouthed, homophobic rant via Twitter. Her account was later suspended. This latest post, however, suggests that she has matured a bit and is hopefully true to word about never using the slur again.
