Fitness guru Richard Simmons is finally speaking out against a tabloid story that surfaced last week about him transitioning into a woman.
Simmons took to social media on Tuesday to deny the report and express his condolences for the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando.
“Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning,” the 67-year-old wrote. “In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies. Although I am not transitioning, I have and always will be supportive of those who are going through their journey. We should not lose focus on showing love, strength and compassion to all of the LGBT community during these tragic times. My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.”

As we noted, The National Enquirer published the story last week that Simmons had transitioned and was now living as a woman named “Fiona.” After the star’s rep slammed the report the mag said it was standing by the story.
