Ryan Beatty comes out, says he’s ‘proud to be a raging homosexual’

Singer Ryan Beatty is now out and proud.

The “Like Me or Not” artist made the announcement that he is gay on social media Tuesday, June 28, which is actually perfect timing since it is LGBT Pride Month.

In the emotional post, he came out to his more than 300,000 followers writing “proud to be a raging homosexual. it's taken 20 years of suffocating in the closet for me to become comfortable enough to say it, but now I can finally breathe. i did it!” Beatty wrote.

That caption was accompanied by a pic of two people walking arm in arm and holding a balloon which read “Gay Power.”

Beatty also took to Twitter to say that he is “grateful” for his family’s support and thanked his fans for their kind words. He even tweeted back to one follower who said they were scared to come out and encouraged them to do so.

The 20-year-old is best known for his 2012 Because of You album and will be releasing a brand new single titled “Passion” next month.
