'Scream' Season 2 episode 8: Village of The Damned

Hello slasher fans!  We have now made it to episode eight and it seems like things may be coming to a close. Audrey has finally confessed to Noah about bringing Piper to Lakewood and acting as her accomplice. Everyone has had it with keeping secrets and they're throwing it all out on the table. They all want the answer to the same question. Who is Ghostface? Who is the person behind the mask?

Maybe this recap will help us find out, lets get into it.

Bloody Messages

Audrey wakes up to two messages in her room that are written in blood. The first message she found was on the ceiling and it read, "12 dead." The second message she found was written on her mirror and it said, "No one will ever forgive you." The next day Audrey tells Noah about the bloody messages. They count all the people that were killed from the time the murders started until now and only counted 11 people. Either the killer was missing one person or telling the future.

Investigating Ms. Lang

The police look through the journals, photos and recordings of Emma and her friends that were being documented by Ms. Lang. As Officer Miguel looks through the tapes he comes across one with Gustavo's name on it. Since that is his son, he gets curious and puts the tape in his desk to listen to it later.

Investigating The Burned Down Estate

The police are notified that an estate owned by Brooke's father, Mr. Maddox was burned down. Now let's rewind back to the last episode. Remember when Eli took Emma to a huge vacant home and while they were inside it was suddenly set on fire? Do you think this may be a match, because I do! The police go into the upstairs bathroom and find two bodies that are burned to crisps. Uh oh, Branson was in the bathroom last episode. Unfortunately, Seth Branson, aka Mr. Branson, was one of the bodies that was burned to death (RIP Seth). The police soon came to the conclusion that the fire was not set on an accident, but on purpose.

Emma Tells the Truth

Emma visits Officer Miguel while he is still at the scene of the burned down house. She tells him the truth about breaking into the house with Eli. He told Emma that someone purposely set the house on fire and that Eli was not a good person to be hanging around. Officer Miguel told her that Eli had a record, and that he was charged with sneaking into a random girl's hotel room in Atlanta. Emma seemed pretty disturbed by the information, but adamantly told to Officer Miguel that they did not set the fire. After Emma left Miguel's office he assigned Officer Dwayne to look after Emma until he found out more information.

Guilty Gustavo, Once Again

Officer Miguel listens to the tape he found in Ms. Lang's collection with Gustavo's name on it. It seems to be a conversation between Emma and Gustavo. They sound like they are talking about the killer. In the recording Emma mentions Gustavo's drawings. This causes Officer Miguel to search through Gustavo's room immediately. Gustavo walks in on him going through his things in his room. He asks Gustavo, "Where is it?" Gustavo is confused. Miguel asks where the Ghostface mask is.

Lets rewind a little bit. So there was something I didn't include a couple episodes back. There was a scene where Gustavo was shown taking a selfie with the Ghostface mask.

In this episode Gustavo's father finds it and seems very suspicious of his son. That's what Miguel was looking for, but he couldn't seem to find it. At this point Miguel is very suspicious of his son and doesn't believe him when he says he's innocent. Gustavo gets frustrated with his father and tells him, "If you think that I'm a killer, prove it."

The Killer Threatens Audrey

The killer sends Audrey a video of him/her in Emma's room while she was sleeping. He/She caressed her face and then put a knife up to the camera.

Suddenly Audrey's phone rings and guess who it is? The killer threatens to have Emma find out that Audrey is the one who brought Piper to Lakewood. Audrey immediately calls Emma and asks her if she wants to go to the carnival with her.

Bouquet of Cotton Candy

This isn't that relevant, but I'm obsessed with #Zoah, so I had to talk about it.

While Zoey and Brooke where getting ready for Lady of The Lake Noah visited Zoey back stage. He came with an adorable bouquet of wait for it...Cotton Candy.

I'm sorry guys, I had to, these two are #Goals.

Its About to be a What? A Cousin Fight

During the carnival Eli comes up to Emma to ask her what the police told her that made her upset. She told him that Officer Miguel told her about his incident in Atlanta. Emma told Eli that it made her realize that she didn't know him at all. Eli told her he'd never do anything to hurt her.

Keiran sees Emma talking to Eli, pushes him and tells him to get away from Emma and to stop telling stories. Eli tells Keiran not to worry because he didn't tell her the, "worst part." Suddenly Keiran charges at Eli and starts punching him repeatedly.

Emma yells stop and breaks up the fight. Eli tells Emma that he's not the one she should be afraid of.

Tipsy Brooke Tells Lakewood The Truth

Brooke is extremely hammered after drinking all of the alcohol in Zoey's flask. Brooke gets called on stage to make a speech at the carnival. Instead of reciting the speech that she rehearsed, her drunken stupor made her take a different approach. She says that Jake should be standing up there with her, but instead he's dead. Brooke tells the audience that Lakewood is cursed and everyone needed to wake up or they'd all end up like Jake.

Terror In The Funhouse

Emma gets a text from Keiran. He tells her to meet him by the ferris wheel, so that they could talk in private. As she is walking to the Ferris wheel, she gets a call from Keiran. She picks it up, but its not Keiran. It's the killer. He/She shows Keiran is being held hostage with tape around his mouth. Emma enters the creepy fun house to rescue Keiran. Meanwhile Audrey gets a video sent by the killer of Emma walking through the fun house alone. Audrey rushes in to save her.

Ghostface Is Always Two Steps Ahead

While Emma is walking through the fun house Ghostface appears, but she does not see him/her. Officer Dwayne, who was assigned to keep watch of Emma enters the fun house as well. As he is walking his walkie-talkie goes off and it is Officer Miguel asking if he still had his eyes on Emma. Just as Officer Dwayne says yes, Ghostface comes behind him and knocks him out.

Emma finds Officer Dwayne on the ground unconscious. Suddenly she sees a reflection of Ghostface in the blood on the ground. Emma slowly pulls the gun out of officer Dwayne's pocket. She picks it up to shoot Ghostface, but ends up shooting through a glass window.

The police arrive at the carnival after not hearing from Officer Dwayne. As they approach the fun house they stop Ghostface from escaping. They tell him/her to drop their weapon and Ghostface gets on the ground. He/She seems to be muffling something under the mask, but it is hard to make out what he/she is saying.

Emma comes out of the fun house with the gun still in her hand screaming, "Where's Keiran?" The police tell her to put her weapon down. She puts the gun down and the police act as if they are about to arrest her. One of the officers take the Ghostface mask off and too their surprise it is Keiran. He is still tied up with duct tape around his mouth.

Smart move Ghostface. You're always two steps ahead of us.

Last Few Minutes

Brooke is sleeping and someone is in her room, walking towards her slowly. Suddenly she wakes up to see that it's just Gustavo.

She thanks him for coming and they cuddle each other to sleep. Audrey goes to Emma's house to confess to her about Piper. However she walks into her room, Emma is already listening to the recording of Audrey confessing about bringing Piper to Lakewood.

This is the same recording that was taped on an accident and that Zoey got a hold of in the last episode. Did she send it to Emma? After Emma is done listening to it Audrey says, "I can explain."
