One day after reports surfaced that Tim Tebow would be speaking at the Republican National Convention next week, the former NFL star said that is not the case.
The New York Times published a report on Thursday that Tebow was slated to speak at the GOP convention in Cleveland, but apparently it was news to him.
The former Denver Broncos quarterback took to Facebook and confirmed that there is no truth to the “rumor.”
"Just got back from the Philippines, and I wake up this morning to find out that I’m speaking at the Republican National Convention," Tebow said in the video. "It’s amazing how fast rumors fly, and that’s exactly what it is, a rumor."
After his response, Maggie Haberman of the NYT, explained that information about Tebow speaking at the RNC was given to reporters by Donald Trump’s people.
“Is it a ‘rumor’ when Trump senior advisors are confirming it to reporters or is it misinformation from campaign?” she asked via Twitter.
