Who better to judge a Miss America competition than a former Olympic all-around champion.
Just soon after her gold medal victory in Rio, Gabby Douglas has been selected to join the panel for the 2017 Miss America pageant.
"Miss America has been such an amazing event for so many years and I am excited to have the opportunity to judge the competition this year," Douglas exclaimed in a statement. "The contestants are a great example of strong women across America and I especially look forward to hearing the platforms that each of them will represent!"
The three-time gold medalist has dealt with her fair share of criticism, more recently, at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. It's her turn to offer critiques to young women, but for a good cause.
Douglas will be seated on a panel that includes actress Sara Foster, singer-songwriter Cole Swindell, Shark Tank's Mark Cuban and former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes.
Along with Douglas' announcement, another participant will be singer and actress Laura Marano. She will also help choose a winner from the 52 women vying for the coveted crown.
The Bachelor's Chris Harrison will return to host the 96th annual event.
The 2017 Miss America pageant will air live from Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall on Sept. 11 on ABC.
