After a suggestive tweet, rumors have begun to swirl over Amy Schumer's future at Comedy Central. Is the comedian really next in line to get canned at the network?
When speaking out against a former writer on Inside Amy Schumer, she hinted at a cancellation of her series, which would be heading into its fifth season.
"I didn't fire Kurt," Schumer asserts. "He isn't a writer for my show because we aren't making the show anymore."
Additionally, Schumer retweeted a fan who expressed their sorrow over the apparent axing of the show.
I didn't fire Kurt. He isn't a writer for my show because we aren't making the show anymore. There are no writers for it.

So with Schumer taking to social media to broadcast the end of her Emmy-winning sketch comedy, the show has to be finished right? Wrong.
Evidently, the funny-lady was playing a joke as she addressed fans anxieties Thursday insisting that Inside Amy Schumer "is not cancelled." However, that does not mean the show is not immune to a hiatus.
"I am just touring doing standup and focusing on writing more for the next year at least," Schumer announced. "We are slated for a season 5 but not in the foreseeable future."
#InsideAmySchumer is not cancelled. @ComedyCentral has provided us with a wonderful home and we couldn't be happier there. I am just touring

I'm grateful @ComedyCentral is giving me this time to work on other projects. Now please grab my book #TheGirlWithTheLowerBackTattoo for now

Schumer has been a Comedy Central standout since her series premiere back in April 2013, which was welcomed by 1.6 million viewers, making it a record for the funny network.
Albeit Inside Amy Schumer is not on the chopping block now, the end could very well be near. Doug Herzog, Viacom music and entertainment group president, revealed to Variety that season five may be her last, as the newly-minted author has "a lot on her plate right now."
