Disney World pulls plug for good on Main Street Electrical Parade

It will be lights out for good for Walt Disney World’s famous electrical parade later this year.

Disney Parks has announced that it will be ending the long-running parade and that it will move down Main Street for the final time on Oct. 9. While visitors to the Florida location will only have till then to take it in one last time, guests at the Anaheim, California Disneyland location will be able to take it all in there for a limited time in 2017. The parade has not run at the California theme park since 1996.

The parade of lights, featuring several Disney characters, first debuted at the Florida park back in 1977 and ran usually once a night at 9 p.m., however, some nights would offer a second showing at 11 p.m.

So head over to Disney World this year or Disneyland next year before this magical run is gone forever.
