Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg throw dinner parties on new VH1 series

You know they say opposites attract and it appears that Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg are going to test that theory out.

The two will join forces on a new VH1 cooking series tentatively titled, Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party.  Dogg and his "homegirl" Stewart will bring together different celebrities as they both host a weekly dinner party.

“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” Stewart said in a press release. "Martha & Snoop's Dinner Party will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way."

The lifestyle guru and rapper-producer are no strangers to each other. Dogg was a guest on Stewart's former talkshow, and they both lampooned Justin Bieber on last year's Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. More recently they competed on ABC's new iteration of $100,000 Pyramid

"My homegirl, Martha, and I have a special bond that goes back," Dogg pronounced. "We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends."

VH1 president, Chris McCarthy also spoke on the unlikely collaboration stating, "we're thrilled to partner with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, two of pop culture’s biggest icons. Wait 'til you see what happens at Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party; it will be unforgettable."

Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party is created and executive produced by Stewart and Kim Miller Olko for Sequential Brands Group, Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung for Merry Jane and SallyAnn Salsano for 495 Productions.

The series is slated to begin in the fall.
