The brother of the late JonBenet Ramsay is suing a forensic pathologist who was featured on the CBS docuseries The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey and claimed he was responsible for his sister's death.
E! News reported that Burke Ramsay filed a lawsuit Thursday, Oct. 6, against famed pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz for comments he allegedly made on a radio show while promoting the docuseries.
The court documents were filed in Wayne County, Michigan and allege that Spitz spoke about Burke while on CBS Detroit and said, "If you really, really use your free time to think about this case, you cannot come to a different conclusion ... It's the boy who did it, whether he was jealous, or mentally unfit or something ... I don't know the why, I'm not a psychiatrist, but what I am sure about is what I know about him, that is what happened here."
Rolling Stone noted that the transcripts from that Sept. 19 interview have been removed from the website.
The now 29-year-old Burke is seeking $150 million in damages and alleges that Dr. Spitz has a history of giving his opinions on high profile cases by making "unsupported, false, and sensational statements and accusations."
No one has ever been charged with 6-year-old JonBenet's murder as the 1996 case remains unsolved.
