Atlas Coffee Club sent me a new shipment from their Coffee of the Month club. The company mails out a bag of coffee from a new country every month so you can explore flavors from around the world. You can also buy single bags or subscribe to a favorite. In September I signed up for three months. Here’s what the second month had to offer.
The shipment arrived in a plain package. No logo, just a return address. As long as it’s padded well so the coffee bag doesn’t split open, I don’t mind a plain box. The bag was packed just fine.
Inside the box was a postcard with a photo and the name of this month’s country, which was Brazil. The back tells a little bit about the region the coffee came from and includes a coupon code. The idea is you can mail it to friends who can get a discount off their own subscription. It’s a clever idea.
Next in the package was the bag of coffee. It’s Brazil Cerrado Mineira which is a medium roast that went through a fully washed process. The bag says the flavor has notes of hazelnut and chocolate. It definitely has a rich and nutty taste. It’s fairly smooth – no burnt flavor, but not incredibly light either. It’s good with a bit of milk, but I also enjoyed giving it an autumn makeover with some pumpkin spice creamer.
An Atlas Coffee Club subscription costs $14 per bag plus $3.95 flat rate shipping. You can order one, two or three bags and have them delivered every two or four weeks depending on your coffee consumption habits. I love that it’s customizable and the price is lower than other coffee clubs on the market.
With Atlas, you always get fresh coffee. It’s roasted the same week as it ships. That means you always get great flavor. If you’re looking for a gift for the coffee connoisseur in your life, this might be the way to go. If that connoisseur is you, this is a great way to try new regions without even having to leave the comfort of home. Buy a subscription today and have some interesting coffee in the house for the holidays.
