Pop singer and actress, Ariana Grande and boyfriend, Mac Miller, were just going out to get food together when they were both confronted with a fan encounter. This fan encounter inevitably resulted in a concern for female objectification.
Grande immediately took to Twitter after the encounter and wrote how it started off "cute and exciting" as he expressed his fandom over Miller. Suddenly, things supposedly took a turn for the worse.
"I thought all of this was cute and exciting until he said 'Ariana is sexy as hell, man. I see you, I see you hitting that!!!'" Grande wrote.

This little statement was enough to send Grande off on the subject of society's way of objectifying women, claiming that it's these "kind of moments that contribute to women's sense of fear and inadequacy."
In a Twitter post, Grande wrote: "I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure. I'm an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect."
According to USA Today, a fan of Grande's responded to her post by arguing how Grande "objectifies herself" through her music, but Grande counter-argued that there is a big difference between women expressing themselves however they want and men objectifying them and violating this freedom.
Grande wrote: "Women expressing sexuality is often mistaken for 'hi come disrespect me,' and that's just not the case. Women (and men) can express themselves however they'd like!!! Even loving sex!! This is not an invitation to be disrespected."
You are literally saying that if we look a certain way, we are yours to take. But we are not !!! It's our right to express ourselves. ♡
