When news broke on Tuesday evening that Alan Thicke, who played Dr. Jason Seaver on the hit sitcom Growing Pains, had died many in Hollywood were in shock and disbelief at his sudden passing and reacted via social media.
As we noted, the 69-year-old Thicke was playing ice hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter, when he suffered a heart attack and was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
Sources said that Thicke was very healthy and this news was so unexpected. The actor was even joking earlier in the day on Twitter just hours before he passed about Fuller House. His tweet read:
Season 2 Fuller House looking good. I even like the ones I’m not in! #fullerhouse @fullhouseguy @bobsaget @candacecbure #netflix

And Lin-Manuel Miranda remembered Thicke not only for his acting but also his songwriting. He wrote the theme songs for The Facts of Life, Wheel of Fortune and Different Strokes to name a few.
I'll miss a lot about @Alan_Thicke, but his songwriting particularly defined my childhood: https://t.co/QlwX7cD1Qfhttps://t.co/G463Xiz0Hh
