We might not see Phoebe, Piper, Prue or Paige anytime soon, but the Charmed reboot is slated for the small screen on The CW.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennie Snyder Urman, who helms Jane the Virgin, will take on this Charmed prequel.
Set in the '70s, the series will be connected to the original as a "reimagining."
Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin, who wrote Jane the Virgin, will also serve as writers. The director for the pilot is also Jane's Brad Silberling.
The reboot news comes after CBS initially shelved the idea in its development stages.
Alyssa Milano, who played Phoebe Halliwell, on the original series has said before that "the thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is… it just… it feels like yesterday. It feels too close."

Rose McGowan, who stepped in after Shannen Doherty left the show, also commented that Hollywood was running out of ideas if it was going to reboot the series. McGowan played Paige Halliwell.
Recently, Holly Marie Combs simply tweeted, "We wish them well," although she did not refer to anything in particular. The actress originally played Piper in The WB show from 1998 to 2006.
The CW already has The Lost Boys reboot in the works, so it remains uncertain if these reboots will resonate with today's audiences.
