Constance Wu protests Casey Affleck's Oscar nomination

Fresh Off The Boat's Constance Wu is protesting Casey Affleck's Oscar nomination because of his sexual assault allegations in 2010.

Wu tweeted out against the nomination on Tuesday, Jan. 24, the day the Oscar nominees were announced.

Affleck, 41, was accused of sexual assault twice by two women who worked with him on the set of I'm Still Here, according to US Weekly. The Manchester by the Sea star settled the suits out of court, as Wu said in her tweets, and continues to deny the allegations.

Wu, 34, is calling out not only Affleck but also The Academy for overlooking Affleck's troubled past.  She continued to tweet out that day in protest.

The actress was even instructed to stop tweeting "for career's sake."  But Wu did not stop and continued to tweet out her beliefs.

Wu has not tweeted since Jan. 24, but has received praise for her protest, including support from The Princess Diaries' Heather Matarazzo amongst many others.

Affleck has spoken out about the allegations in October 2016 in Variety interview.

“People say whatever they want. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how you respond … I guess people think if you’re well-known, it’s perfectly fine to say anything you want. I don’t know why that is. But it shouldn’t be, because everybody has families and lives.”

Affleck has not responded to the protest sparked by Wu.
