Joss Whedon wishes a violent death for Paul Ryan

After a 2016 election cycle that was widely regarded as the most divisive in recent history, the divisive rhetoric continues. Joss Whedon, a filmmaker and outspoken Clinton supporter, is the latest to contribute to this political divide.

Last Friday, Whedon sent a vulgar tweet aimed at Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

It has yet to be made clear what prompted Whedon to go on this tirade against Ryan. Whedon has not commented on the tweet, nor explained his motivation for such inflammatory comments. Twitter, rightfully so, has responded with immense backlash towards his ill-advised tweet.

Whedon has found positive ways to contribute to politics, like pausing his career to work full-time on the Save the Day PAC. He directed this video as part of his commitment.

Whedon has not deleted the tweet, and neither he nor his team have responded for requests for comments. Despite whatever intentions Whedon has, his profane comments set a bad example for a nation that is deeply divided.
