Before Lucifer’s mid-season break, it looked like he and Chloe were finally going to become an item. This week, she makes him work for it.
Just as Lucifer is leaning in for the kiss, a stewardess named Jana shows up at his door and starts stripping. Chloe thinks she’s making a mistake and leaves. After she’s gone, Lucifer sends Jana on her way.
Maze brings Chloe the newspaper. The headline says the man that she knows killed her father was found dead in a mob hit. Chloe tells Maze whoever did it is no better than the warden. Maybe Dan made a mistake in orchestrating it.
Lucy tells Chloe that he sent the stewardess packing and promises he’ll never see her again, but when they arrive at the newest crime scene, the body they find is Jana’s. Is someone trying to frame Lucifer?
Chloe questions Lucifer about Jana. Can anyone prove she left alive? He doesn’t know Jana’s personal details. A cop hands Chloe Jana’s phone. Someone was sending her threatening messages and told her to ditch Lucifer, calling him a loser. It’s a hit to Lucy’s ego.
Dan finds Maze at his desk. She wants to celebrate the death of the warden, but he doesn’t want to be seen with her until it blows over. How will Maze take rejection?
Lucifer tries to convince Chloe that he’s changed, but she says they’re too different. They interview Andy, the man who sent Jana the threatening messages. He claims he was with two other women so he couldn’t have killed her. Before Chloe can interview his alibi, they’re called to another murder whose ballistics match Jana’s case.
The next victim is a man, Raj, but also a lover of Lucifer’s. Chloe thinks one of his ex-lovers is killing the others out of jealousy and wants to bring them in. Lucifer tells her to get a bigger notepad for that list. Ha!
Dan and Lucy look on while Chloe interrogates his exes. There’s a whole waiting room full of them. Chloe asks for extra details to see if her own night with Lucifer was special. They all claim they had amazing sex, but he never did anything emotionally intimate like he did for Chloe. When they all tell Chloe it was meaningless, Lucifer starts to feel bad.
Chloe calls Charlotte in. Chloe asks if the fact that she means something to Lucifer threatens her. Charlotte says he deserves happiness. Dan makes Lucifer promise he won’t tell Chloe that he slept with Charlotte. Lucifer agrees as long as it never happens again. Chloe has to find out eventually, right?
Lucifer’s exes mention a woman who hung out in the corner of Luxe and gave them death stares. Her name is Sookie. When they get to her apartment, the door is open. It’s full of pictures of Lucifer with other women. What’s this woman’s deal?
They tell Sookie to come out with her hands up. She’s obsessed with Lucifer, but claims she didn’t kill anyone. She has his exes categorized in photos and it turns out Jana and Raj were friends. There’s a third person in the picture – a pilot. Chloe tells Sookie not to leave town. She says she’d never abandon Lucifer. He’s significantly creeped out and leaves quickly. Apparently his ego doesn’t need that much stroking.
The pilot, Tim, flies private planes to known drug hotspots. Dan thinks Jana and Raj found out he was smuggling and threatened to squeal. Tim must have killed them to keep them quiet. Our heroes race to the airport and Lucifer races his convertible sports car down the runway trying to stop the plane. Is he crazy? He pulls in front of the plane and makes it screech to a stop. The pilot is relieved to see police. He thought someone was trying to kill him. Apparently, he’s not our guy.
Tim says a man named Burt was using Jana to mule drugs. Tim refused to smuggle for Burt, but a package went missing on Jana’s last flight. When she didn’t have it, Burt started working through her friends. Lucifer suggests they need only pretend someone who worked with Jana has the package to catch their killer. Maze agrees to play the part of a new flight attendant.
Lucifer offers Amenadiel a drink and asks him if he’s boyfriend material. Amenadiel says Lucifer has never gotten emotionally attached with anyone, but he’s underestimating himself.
Maze arrives at the sting operation dressed in a slutty uniform. She tells Dan he needs to own up to what he did. Chloe can hear their conversation over Dan’s earpiece. He tries to shut Maze down, but she blurts out that he slept with Charlotte. This leads Chloe and Lucifer to a conversation about their own relationship and Chloe tells him it’s never going to happen. She tells him to leave the van because she needs air.
Burt arrives at the bar and hits on Maze. She shows him her key card and they head for her hotel room. Once there, Maze attacks him and finds out he was paid to say he was Burt. Outside, the real killer puts a gun to Lucifer’s head and asks for the package. He claims it was much more important than drugs.
Lucifer steals the gun and threatens Burt. He’s upset that they both used Jana. He shows Burt his true face and Chloe and Dan find him cowering. They arrest him, but the package is still at large.
In a dark airplane hanger, Andy is approached by a man in silhouette. He planned to sell what he thought were drugs from the package, but one broke open and caused him to become seriously ill. The man strangles him and leaves.
Lucifer tells Chloe that she deserves someone worthy and that isn’t him. She tries to explain that’s not what she meant. He tells her how good she is and that he’s a bad man. When he’s done, she kisses him. What will this lead to? We’ll find out on the next episode.
