Where is Carrie Fisher's dog Gary these days?

Carrie Fisher's beloved companion dog, Gary, has found his forever home with Fisher's former personal assistant, Corby McCoin.

Since the passing of Star Wars' actress Fisher in December, there has been speculation about her service dog, Gary. It was thought that Gary was residing with Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd and when the two of them did not make an appearance for the Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynold public memorial service, speculation was further stirred.

Lourd did share a video of Gary on his 5th birthday and said Gary was her dog initially but that her mom Fisher "actually stole him because she fell in love with him." Lourd does not currently have ownership of Gary, however.

Fisher's former personal assistant Corby McCoin has taken in Gary as her own, because the French bulldog had been around her a lot and was already comfortable with her. McCoin thought taking him in was the right thing to do.

Gary is living the cushy life with his new owner. He will no longer be making red carpet appearances, like his former mama Fisher did with him, but he is currently enjoying afternoon naps on the couch, according to his Instagram which boosts over 135,000 followers.

All of Fisher and Reynolds' pets have been financially secured by their estates. Fisher had a parrot, along with Gary and Reynolds had her dog, Dwight.

Todd Fisher, Carrie's brother told USA Today, "You know that these pets are going to be well looked after. They all have trust funds."
