'Cash Cab' gets reboot with a new twist

Your favorite taxi is coming back to the streets!

The Discovery Channel announced on Monday, March 26, that the game show Cash Cab will be rebooted on their channel with a new twist. Host Ben Bailey will not be returning. Instead, your favorite celebrities will get behind the wheel and pick up random passengers and force them to answer trivia questions for money and kick them out when they get an answer wrong, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

This new twist is most likely due to the success of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke and the general public's desire to see celebrities in cars.

There will be a new host, but it is not confirmed who will take over the role at this time.  It is also not confirmed which celebrities will steer the cash cab.

Fans were excited to hear that the beloved game show was coming back and quickly made it a trending topic on Twitter.

Comedian David Sternberg will executive produce the reboot.  Steinberg is known for directing HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The original Cash Cab ran for 10 seasons from 2005-2012 and won three Emmy Awards.

Cash Cab will return to the Discovery Channel later this year.
