Rimmel London's ScandalEyes Reloaded Mascara's ad, featuring Cara Delevingne, will no longer air due to misleading its consumers.
While the commercial came out in December, U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) pulled the plug on the mascara ad that claimed to give "dangerously bold lashes" and "extreme volume."
The ad showed the model applying the mascara for thick and lengthy lashes, but the only problem is that Rimmel London digitally enhanced the effects through PhotoShop and falsies.
Coty U.K., which owns Rimmel London, stated that using falsies helped "fill in the gaps and create a uniform lash line."
The parent company also noted that the model's lashes were only redrawn because the dark eyeshadow covered them.
A spokesperson for Coty U.K. told BuzzFeed News, "While we regret the decision of the ASA, we will of course comply with the ruling and not air the TV commercial again in this state."
Delevingne has been surrounded by controversy lately, as new Suicide Squad footage revealed that she was digitally slimmed, for her role as Enchantress.
Even though Rimmel London will no longer show the ad for ScandalEyes Reloaded, the 24-year-old still appears in the Volume Shake Mascara ad for the brand.
