Gina Rodriguez will be voicing Carmen Sandiego

Carmen Sandiego will be alive in the form of Gina Rodriguez, as the Jane the Virgin actress will be voicing the iconic animated heroine.

According to The Tracking Board, Netflix has ordered 20 episodes of the educating globetrotting series.

The character originally appeared in a computer game, before becoming even more popular among kids as the show, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? in the nineties.

There is no word if other iconic characters, like "The Chief," will make an appearance on the series.

For Rodriguez, it will be a full plate, as she is in negotiations to star in the remake of Miss Bala as well as starring in Fire Me.

The Golden Globe winner also has two films, slated to be released this year. She lends her voice as Mary in the animated movie, The Star, set to drop in November. The following month, Ferdinand  will be released with Rodriguez as the voice of Una.

Rodriguez will also continue her work in Jane the Virgin. The hit CW show has been renewed for a fourth season.
